Shipping time estimates are for Economy and Media Mail - the cheapest price with the slowest transit time. Priority Mail usually does arrive within the promised 2 to 3 days but costs quite a bit more. It's important to understand that the order will be processed and shipped within 48 business hours of receiving payment regardless of what shipping method is chosen and the actual transit time will be determined by the USPS.
Domestic orders are sent within 24 to 48 hours of receiving payment and International orders within 24 to 72 hours business hours Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays.
Order will be shipped using USPS (US mail). If no one is at the delivery address to receive the package, the carrier may leave a call notice to pick up the item at the post office. Media Mail and International orders can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks to arrive, even longer during the December holiday season so if waiting is not an option, Priority or Express should be used.
The USPS will not accept a claim for lost shipments or do a trace until the time exceeds the official limits for a particular type of shipping. Media Mail and International Economy deliveries are allowed to take up to 6 weeks before being considered "lost." USPS requires that anyone claiming non-delivery for International shipments must submit a signed verification that the package has not arrived as well as verify it is not being held at customs.
Media Mail is a special US Postal Service rate that vinyl records qualify for but international orders are not eligible for the discount.
Shipping weights are based on weight but the "shipping weight" it is not necessarily the actual weight of your package. There is a small fee factored in to help cover the costs of expensive special mailers & boxes, cardboard fillers, foam & bubble wrap, high-grade shipping tape, pens, ink & labels, USPS postage fees, not to mention the time spent packing very delicate 78's and, in the case of international orders, the extra time spent completing customs forms
